Take an illustrated journey…

IJpicWell, here we are in the middle of February. This cold time of year I always start thinking about vacationing somewhere warm… or maybe just somewhere else. And the latest book that I had the pleasure of editing is making me feel that itch even more.

An Illustrated Journey, by Danny Gregory (author of the popular An Illustrated Life) is a compilation of essays and images from a wide array of talented artists, designers and illustrators who share their ideas and experiences on travel sketching. If you’re looking for inspiration, then you’re in luck. These artists will definitely make you want to pack your suitcase (and your pens) and visit some exotic destination.

The artists share tips, insights from their travels, and suggestions for your travel art kit. If you’re an artist looking for creative ideas, the book is great for finding inspiration in the world around you. If you just need to get out of your head for a bit, the book is also a great read for the armchair traveler—plus I bet you’ll be inspired to take along a sketchbook on your next adventure.
