This week is history

It’s Friday afternoon and I’m excited (I’m meeting some friends to have Korean food tonight). Plus, to kick the weekend off on a good note, my boss just dropped off advance copies of The Art & Craft of Writing Historical Fiction by James Alexander Thom, which looks fantastic.

My friend Lauren edited the book and I worked a bit on the project during the final proofread. It’s a very smart, insightful and witty guide to writing historical fiction. I recommend it for anyone who is working on (or plans to write) a period piece. Making your period fiction smack of authenticity is critical for success–and this book helps you do exactly that.
