Got a Writing Group?

Z4813c_SurvivalGuideWriter’s Digest is compiling a registry of writing groups to help writers find groups to fit their needs. It’s a great way to make connections and find new members. Plus, if you join the registry you’ll receive a free PDF of The Writing & Critique Group Survival Guide by Becky Levine.

I would be interested in joining a writing group. I am located in Calgary, Canada if that makes a difference and I mostly write non fiction but keep trying to work on some fiction. I haven’t completed any fiction works and run-on sentences seem to be a specialty.

I would love to be part of a writing group in the Studio City, Ca. area if at all possible. Can you offer any direction?

Glad to hear of interest in joining writing groups. Hopefully our registry will make it easier to do so once we have compiled it (again I encourage anyone with an active writing group to register… its a great way to find new members and network).

As for the comments about looking for a writing group, right now I’d suggest a couple of things: 1. check your local bookstore–often writing groups will post flyers or even meet at a local bookstore and you can find out if they are seeking new members. 2. search online–do some keyword searches to try to find writing groups in your area, or even an online writing group. 3. join a writing community or forum online–there are quite a few to choose from including,, and our very own Writer’s Digest community:

    Good luck!
